TritonTrak Plant tracking device enables plant hire company to recover ‘resold’ excavator and trailer

A Teesside plant hire company have recovered a Wacker Neuson micro excavator and Indespension trailer from a lock-up near Newcastle, Tyne and Wear using the TritonTrak plant tracking system.

The plant machinery had been hired several months, when the customer called to off-hire everything due to a change in their circumstances. When organising collection of the equipment, the hire company were told that they wouldn’t be able to collect the digger and trailer as they weren’t available. They had in effect, been stolen.

Fortunately, the excavator had been installed with a TritonTrak plant tracking system which meant that the hire company could see the exact location of their machine.

In the meantime, contact was made with the person who believed he was the new owner of excavator and trailer. Following discussions between the police and the parties involved, TritonTrak, through their plant tracking system, were able to supply the exact location of the plant equipment which was subsequently recovered.
